Kaspersky Online Scanner 5.0 is an online antivirus scanner.
It´s a free way to find out if you have any viruses or spyware on your machine. If you already have an antivirus installed, you don´t need to uninstall it, and you´ll get a "second opinion" about your system´s health.
To be able to use Kaspersky Online Scanner 5.0 you need to be online and using Internet Explorer. The program uses Microsoft ActiveX technologies to scan your computer for malicious code.
Once installed, you can choose which type of scan you wish to perform. You can analyze your entire system, or just critical areas, memory, emails, a folder or even a single file.
If Kaspersky Online Scanner 5.0 detects some virus or malware, it informs you. The program ONLY tells you if it found something, it DOES NOT fix anything. They recommend you to install a full antivirus to do so, like the one they sell.
